Veganism is popular and healthy
I need to start this off by saying that I am not a Vegan. My family eats more vegetables than meat based dishes, though we do consume meat. When I share vegan and vegetarian recipes, I am not condemning meat eaters at all!
Veganism has gained a lot of popularity among the health and eco-conscious. With the issues that elevated protein can cause in diabetic, I thought it may be a good idea to share recipes all diabetics can incorporate into their diet. So, if you are a vegan/vegetarian diabetic, this recipes is dedicated to you!

Planning healthy meals as a diabetic is important. You do not need to settle for plain fare, much like I tell others who are interested in eating healthier; all food can be delicious. All it takes is a bit of imagination to change boring food to spectacular meals.
Here are a few links to help you plan and cook better meals. You can find recipes, the diabetic food pyramid, a food planner, and even a virtual grocery store tour.

I just do not know how it could get any better.
Really, I don’t.
I received the press release and a copy of The Big Book Of Diabetic Desserts by Jackie Mills, MS, RD and I could not be happier! This book is filled with absolutely decadent desserts that anyone, not just diabetics will lust over. Many diabetics find themselves eating things that are devoid of taste, at least compared to what they are used to.
Not anymore!

Tell me something I didn’t know, please.
This morning I read an article on the elevated risk of cardiovascular disease in women with diabetes. I would hate to have to point out to the scientists that discovered this that diabetic women already knew this. My mother has had two heart catheter procedures in the past few years, I do not know about her cholesterol, but I would guess it is not a pretty number.
Lower the pressure.

Sugar Highs Are The Norm.

As a diabetic, desserts are often off limits. Super rich, decadent desserts are plastered all over magazines and television. Chocolate is drizzled onto cakes, pies, and cookies. Sugar glazes, towering sugar sculptures, and a flurry of powdered sugar snows the dessert buffet. It is not healthy to indulge too much as an individual without diabetes, but what about when your life depends on avoiding the temptations?
There Is A Solution.
