In my family diabetes runs wild on both sides of the family so us in this generation have a great chance if not careful of how we take care of our bodies may get it. My father now has to keep picking his finger to check his sugar level. this is not something that he enjoys at all, but then who would. I would really love to see my father grow old as he is still a young man, so any information i can get will be a great help, it is nice to know that there is someone out there who understands and cares enoguh to share….. thanks…

I have type II and take Metformin pills to control it, along with diet and exercise. Recent Hbgc tests have all been below 6.1, so I have it under control. Websites like yours are a great help and I praise you for doing it.
For Nicole, I use one of the new testers and I don’t like pricking my fingers either. The new ones require much less blood and you can stick your forearm (underside) which hurts very little and you have more area to work with so it doesn’t get as sore as the end of a finger. Good luck to your father and you with your diabetes.
